"Tatwa was gathering up his warriors, fifteen of the best fighters, the best hunters. The strongest men of the tribe rode out as fast as they could to bring back Shewa. Tatwa couldn't breathe, his chest hurt. He kept seeing that awful man grab his sacred woman. He was afraid to think past that sight. He rode his horse like the wind in a winter storm.
"Penwa-Tiny Bird, White Bear lit a small fire and ate some rabbit that she had killed and cooked. She would not sleep; she was waiting to see what was going to happen next. She knew time was running out for Eagle Man. But still she was not sure what she was going to do!
"For a moment Eagle man thought all his fears might have been imagined. People seemed happy to see him. Then in a flash his leg was cut and bleeding, he was then pulled off of his horse by his hair; he saw a knife coming down to cut his throat. His father stood over him. Eagle Man had to fight or die."
You'll find this book captivating and spellbinding. Easy reading for as well as adults young adult or child. A beautiful message of courage, hope and inspiration.
